Fire Wall Compatibility

When engineering for live web events, slp3D will backhaul encoded streams to the Internet through one of two means. If backhaul is achieved through satellite transmission, no firewall implications are encountered on the source end of transmission.

When backhauling through the Internet, slp3D generally recommends the use of Real Player technology. In this configuration, the encoded stream is delivered through the firewall to an external IP address through which the stream is "pushed" to the Internet. Usage of the Windows Media Player format in this configuration requires access through the firewall to an internal IP address.

3D HealthNet addresses receiver-end firewalls through UDP ports. If UDP ports are not available or enabled, streaming video rolls to the TCP/IP protocol and employs http tunneling through Port 80.
