LaunchSite University of Maryland Medical Center LaunchSite

The Goal
To demonstate the University of Maryland Medical Center's expertise, both the physician expertise as well as the expertise of the facility

The Solution
O.R. Live "Plus". slp3D developed and premiered an internet event that featured CME for medical professionals and news-magazine style content for consumers. It also included click-through opportunities for physicians and consumers seeking referrals as well as an interactive web based forum.

The Results
Within 90 days of the OR-Live broadcast 12 new Mitral Valve Repair procedures were booked. Documentated cases included patients outside the medical center's local service area including individuals from Florida and Australia.

"Many patients have said they watched the webcast. So I find that probably 50 to 60 percent of people who come to us now...are much more prepared." UMMC cardiac surgeon James Gammie.
